The Magic Pill

Have you ever wished that there was a magic pill to change anything in your life?  What if I told you there are 3 fundamental things you can do today to get out of a life rut? Today we are going to discuss; intention, presence and attentiveness.  Introducing these into your world could be the magic pill you are looking for.

Your days are full of things to do, you are trying to get through an endless list of tasks, messages, emails, phone calls, items to be followed up and household jobs to be completed.  You are thinking about everyone else and you don’t have the energy you need for you.  I see you and I get it because I have been there as well, but not anymore.

What if I told you that your life doesn’t have to feel so overwhelming?  What if I told you that you have the power to take back your energy?

Are you ready to gain time in your life to do the things that you want to do?  Are you ready to relieve your stress and curate the life you want?  Regardless of what you do; whether you are working full time, caring for children, parents or a partner, here are my three fundamentals that form the basis to an Oncore Life so that you can get more from every day, and Step into your Power to live Strong 50, 60, 70 and beyond.


The more you set your intention, the more likely you will make things happen.  Living with intention is about having a plan and setting up habits to achieve your plan.   Living with intention is about taking back your power and not getting sidetracked by distractions.  You can start setting intentions immediately.  There is no waiting needed to get intentional, this one decision will quickly put you in the drivers’ seat of your life.  When you have a plan you choose your path.  Set intentions in advance and get on the NO train to avoid distractions.  


It’s OK to think about the past and the future but we don’t need to live there.  Why is it so hard to be in the present moment, experiencing the here and now and just enjoy it?  Life feels incredibly fast paced, with hectic schedules holding us hostage to a base level of anxiety and stress, leading to feeling worn out and exhausted.  Choosing to live with presence does require the intention to bring your mind back to what it is that you are doing.  It is about consciously choosing to stay in the now.  It doesn’t matter if your mind wanders off but it is up to you to balance your thoughts between the past, present and future.  There is no perfect, there is only what feels right to you.  With practice and time you will find your zone where you worry less and live without anxiety and stress.


You have been brainwashed, you have been programmed by society, parents, culture, friends, news, social media etc., you run on autopilot all day.  Learning to be more attentive will bring a greater level of self awareness, ensuring the choices that you make will help you show up for yourself.  Practice gratitude and allow yourself to see the magic in the day, listen to yourself and practice active listening when engaging with others.   Allow yourself time to smile, appreciate the little things and have a laugh.

Living your daily life with intention, presence and attentiveness is positive and empowering.  Living this way will be sure to remind you of the conscious control that you have to develop yourself not hurt yourself.

Never be ashamed or embarrassed by past habits or behaviour, ASK yourself ‘what could I do better?’ and make a plan.  Pay attention in the moment as your attention is being stolen and I am not just talking about a few minutes every day.

Think about your daily interactions, how you show up for your day, what are your daily start-up and end of day habits and routines.  What would change if you took the magic pill?

A few simple ways to introduce intention, presence and attentiveness into your every day are listed below, different routines will apply for shift workers but still a similar structure:

  1.   Wake up as the sun rises
  2.   Stretch & practice some simple meditation in the quiet of the morning 
  3.   Make your bed
  4.   Set yourself up with a morning routine that works best for you
  5.   Schedule a time to start work, turn notifications off on all devices
  6.   Practice opening emails at 10am, 1pm and 4pm - you could have an out-of-office advising that you only check emails at certain times per day, that way people won’t expect an immediate response
  7.   Schedule a time to check in with social media, set short boxed time limits to scroll, put your phone away as soon as the timer goes off
  8.   Set 45 minute focus blocks, 10 minute movement, 5 minutes to reset back into what you are doing
  9.   Bookend your day with an end of day routine
  10.   Have your last meal at least 2 hours before bed
  11.   Be off all technology an hour before bed
  12.   Stick to a similar bedtime routine

This may seem very structured, it is to a degree but this is where the power lies.  This structure will allow you to Step into your Power.  There is always time to get into the zone and flow and this will come as you consciously use your time wisely and be sure to take the time for you to do things that you want to do.

So there you have it, you now have the magic pill to curate your Oncore Life by introducing: Intention, Presence, Attentiveness into your life you have the tools to Step into your Power and live Strong 50, 60, 70 and beyond.
